Process

I accept a limited range of commissions that align with my artistic style and current body of work. Most commonly, I create:

  • Figurative and portrait-based paintings

  • Works exploring personal narratives, relationships, and identity

  • Nature-inspired compositions incorporating symbolic elements

I welcome projects that allow for creative interpretation and collaboration, rather than exact replication of reference images. While references are used as a guide, each piece is ultimately approached as an original work.

At this time, I do not accept commissions that require strict realism, commercial illustration, or direct copies of existing artworks.

I am currently accepting commissions!

Availability & Timeline

I accept a limited number of commissions each year in order to maintain the quality and attention given to each piece.

  • Limited to four projects annually

  • Currently accepting commissions for 2026–2027 delivery

  • Typical timeline: 3–8 months from the initial consultation to final delivery, depending on the scale of the work and current schedule.

*Please be mindful that I am a full time college student, so please be kind and patient!*

Pricing Info

Commissions begin at $1,250, with the smallest-sized painting being 16×20. The final price is determined by several factors, including:

  • Canvas size

  • Composition complexity

  • Number of subjects or figures

  • Level of detail required

Each commission is quoted individually after the consultation phase.

Payment & Shipping

Once we have agreed on the canvas and size of the artwork, I will provide the final price for the commission. Shipping costs are not included in this price and will be added separately. The client is responsible for covering shipping, which will be calculated and included in the final total.

After you approve both the final price and the pencil sketch, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to begin the painting. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the artwork. The piece will be shipped once the full payment has been received.

Policy & Agreement

All commissions are completed under a signed contract outlining the scope of the work, timeline, payment terms, and delivery details.

Layla Stock reserves the right to decline any commission inquiry.

Commission Scope

After receiving your inquiry, we will begin with an initial consultation to discuss your idea, reference images, or overall theme for the artwork. From there, I will begin the creation process by sketching the main compositional elements. These sketches will be shared with you so we can discuss feedback and determine the final direction of the piece.

Once the composition is approved, we will define the color palette for the work. This can also be included in your initial inquiry if you already have a preference. After the colors are finalized, I will send a refined sketch incorporating the agreed composition and palette. Please note that the final sketch is still a rough representation of the overall composition and color placement.
